Coming of Age Ceremonies

Humanist coming of age ceremonies are a secular alternative to religious rites of passage for young persons as they prepare to enter adulthood. These ceremonies help the young person’s family celebrate their passage into adulthood in a non-religious but highly personal and meaningful way. It marks the person’s transition into an adult community where Humanist values such as social justice, human rights, equality for all and compassion are emphasized.

As Humanist officiants, we work closely with families to create a ceremony that celebrates the young person’s unique character and makes clear their responsibilities as they move to the next part of their lives.
